This past week the AGC was able to recognize a number of our members and their safety accomplishment over the past year during our Annual Safety Awards program. This year’s event was co-sponsored by our partners at the Utah Labor Commission and we were grateful to have Louis M. Silva, Division Director/OSHA Program Administrator present to help with the presentation of our awards.
The AGC safety Awards continue to set the industry standard of safety excellence and are esteemed by many as the award to get. One contractor recently said “that of all the safety awards their company receives from various groups and associations, the AGC GC Safety Award means the most”.
AGC Safety Awards are evaluated utilizing the number of man hours worked, company EMOD, OSHA 300 Log & their insurance loss run – then all the submitted information is compared to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) Injuries, Illnesses, and Fatalities national averages. Safety Awards are earned not given, there is no participation trophy, either you qualify or you do not.
