    Event Description:
    Construction workers make up approximately five percent of the country?s workforce but account for an average of 19% of all job-related fatalities each year. In addition, falls account for the greatest number of fatalities in the construction industry, especially among small businesses.

    Over the past 
    10 years, at least, an average of 346 workers were killed from falls, and nonfatal injuries and illnesses that resulted from falls, occurred at a rate of 31.4 per 10,000 full-time workers in 2020.

    James T. Goss, CHST Sr. Safety Consultant, HCSS
    Jim Goss is HCSS?s Senior Safety Consultant and has specialized in Construction safety for over 35 years. Jim was instrumental in creating the first ever Construction Safety degree plan at Keene State University that awarded degrees to its first graduating class in 2019.  Jim currently serves as the Chairman for Government Affairs on the Associated General Contractors of America National Safety Committee. Jim is also the Co-Chairman of Associated General Contractors Crane Task Force and is a national stakeholder in this subject area.

    Stephen M. Kinn, MSOH President, Elite Health and Safety Services
    Stephen M. Kinn is President of Elite Health and Safety Services, LLC. He previously served as an Advanced Health, Environmental & Safety Lead for Marathon Petroleum and Director of Safety for Donley?s. In his current role, he provides safety and health training, management systems development, corporate & project safety culture assessments, OSHA consultations, and incident investigations/management.  Mr. Kinn has a B.S. degree in Environmental and Hazardous Materials Management from the University of Findlay and a M.S. degree in Occupational Health / Industrial Hygiene from the Medical College of Ohio, Toledo. He has over 27 years? experience in construction safety and has been an OSHA 500 authorized instructor for 26 years with over 10000 people trained in the OSHA 10? and 30-hour construction course.
