AGC of Utah Event Registration Terms and Conditions
By registering for, attending, sponsoring, exhibiting at, or participating in an event hosted, sponsored, or organized by Associated General Contractors of Utah, including its affiliates, committees, staff, officers, directors, representatives, volunteers, sponsors, and event partners collectively, “AGC of Utah,” you agree to the following Event Registration Terms and Conditions.
1. Voluntary Participation
Participation in any AGC of Utah event is voluntary. By registering for or attending an event, you acknowledge that you are choosing to participate in the event and any related activities, meals, tours, presentations, networking opportunities, travel, demonstrations, recreational activities, or off-site components associated with the event.
You are responsible for determining whether your participation is appropriate based on your own health, physical condition, business needs, schedule, and personal circumstances.
2. Registration on Behalf of Another Person
If you register another person for an AGC of Utah event, you represent that you are authorized to do so. You agree to provide that person with a copy of, or access to, these Event Registration Terms and Conditions and to inform them that their attendance or participation is subject to these terms.
If you register multiple attendees, you are responsible for ensuring that each attendee receives these terms before participating in the event.
3. Event Changes and Safety Requirements
AGC of Utah may modify event schedules, speakers, locations, programming, topics, activities, or other event details at any time. AGC of Utah may also postpone, relocate, reschedule, or cancel an event due to weather, safety concerns, speaker availability, venue issues, government action, or other circumstances.
AGC of Utah may establish event-specific rules, safety requirements, eligibility requirements, check-in procedures, site-access requirements, or participation limitations. Attendees agree to comply with all posted instructions, venue rules, safety requirements, and directions from AGC of Utah staff, event hosts, site personnel, or authorized representatives.
4. Assumption of Risk
You understand that participation in AGC of Utah events may involve certain inherent risks, including but not limited to travel-related risks, walking or standing for extended periods, uneven surfaces, stairs, construction site conditions, weather exposure, food or beverage consumption, networking activities, recreational activities, equipment demonstrations, parking areas, and the acts or omissions of other attendees, vendors, venues, or third parties.
For events involving construction sites, facility tours, outdoor activities, golf tournaments, shooting events, equipment demonstrations, or similar activities, you acknowledge that additional risks may exist, including risks associated with active or inactive jobsites, machinery, tools, vehicles, noise, dust, debris, trip hazards, physical activity, and changing environmental conditions.
You voluntarily assume the risks inherent in attending and participating in the event.
5. Release of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Utah law, you release and agree not to bring claims against AGC of Utah for personal injury, illness, death, property damage, lost property, economic loss, or other harm arising out of or related to your attendance at or participation in the event, except to the extent such harm is caused by AGC of Utah’s gross negligence, willful misconduct, or conduct that cannot be released as a matter of law.
This release is intended to apply to risks inherent in the event or activity, including ordinary risks associated with attendance, participation, travel to and from the event, event premises, third-party venues, food and beverage service, and interaction with other attendees.
Nothing in these terms is intended to waive rights or claims that cannot be waived under applicable law.
6. Medical Treatment and Emergency Assistance
If you experience a medical emergency or safety concern during an event, AGC of Utah may, but is not required to, seek emergency assistance on your behalf. You remain responsible for your own medical needs, medications, health conditions, and emergency expenses.
AGC of Utah does not provide medical advice, medical screening, or medical supervision at events unless expressly stated in event materials.
7. Photo, Video, and Media Release
You acknowledge that AGC of Utah, its representatives, sponsors, vendors, media partners, or attendees may photograph, record, livestream, or otherwise capture images, audio, or video at AGC of Utah events.
By attending or participating in an event, you grant AGC of Utah permission to use your name, image, likeness, voice, company name, and participation in photographs, videos, recordings, social media posts, newsletters, websites, promotional materials, press releases, educational materials, and other communications related to AGC of Utah’s mission.
AGC of Utah’s use of event photographs, videos, recordings, and related media is intended to further its mission to lead and unite Utah’s construction community through advocacy, education, and resources, centered around skill, integrity, and responsibility.
AGC of Utah will not intentionally use an attendee’s name, image, likeness, voice, company name, or participation in a manner intended to falsely imply a personal endorsement, sponsorship, political position, commercial testimonial, or other affiliation beyond the attendee’s participation in or presence at an AGC of Utah event.
This permission is granted without compensation and includes the right to edit, reproduce, publish, distribute, and display such materials in any format or medium.
If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded, you should notify AGC of Utah in writing before the event and make reasonable efforts to avoid photography or recording areas. AGC of Utah will make reasonable efforts to accommodate such requests but cannot guarantee exclusion from all background images, crowd shots, livestreams, or third-party recordings.
8. Attendee Conduct
Attendees are expected to conduct themselves professionally, respectfully, and lawfully. AGC of Utah may remove or deny participation to any attendee who engages in disruptive, unsafe, unlawful, harassing, discriminatory, or inappropriate conduct, or who fails to comply with event rules, venue requirements, or safety instructions.
Attendees are responsible for their own conduct and for any guests, employees, representatives, or other individuals they register or bring to an event.
9. Antitrust Compliance
AGC of Utah is committed to full compliance with federal and state antitrust laws. Attendees agree not to use AGC of Utah events, meetings, committees, networking opportunities, or communications to discuss, coordinate, or agree upon competitively sensitive matters.
Prohibited topics include, but are not limited to, pricing, bids, bid strategy, wages, employee compensation, market allocation, customer allocation, refusal to deal with particular customers or suppliers, limiting production or services, or any agreement that could improperly restrict competition.
If an inappropriate topic is raised, attendees should stop the discussion, leave the conversation if necessary, and notify AGC of Utah staff.
10. Privacy, Data, and Communications
By registering for an event, you agree that AGC of Utah may collect and use registration information, including your name, company, job title, email address, phone number, event selections, dietary or accessibility requests, and other information you choose to provide.
AGC of Utah may use this information to administer the event, communicate with attendees, manage check-in, prepare attendee lists, coordinate sponsors or hosts, improve future events, and provide relevant AGC of Utah communications.
By providing an email address or phone number, you consent to AGC of Utah using that contact information to communicate with you regarding the event, AGC of Utah programs, membership, advocacy, education, resources, updates, surveys, and other information related to AGC of Utah’s mission and activities.
These communications may be sent by email, phone call, text message, or other reasonable communication methods. Message and data rates may apply to text messages. You may opt out of non-essential marketing or promotional communications where applicable, but AGC of Utah may still send event-related, transactional, administrative, or legally required communications.
AGC of Utah may share limited attendee information with event sponsors, venues, hosts, vendors, or partners when reasonably necessary for event administration, security, check-in, meals, access, sponsorship recognition, or similar event-related purposes.
AGC of Utah does not intend to collect sensitive personal information through event registration unless it is voluntarily provided by the attendee for a specific event-related purpose, such as dietary, accessibility, or accommodation requests.
11. Third-Party Venues, Sponsors, and Vendors
Some AGC of Utah events may take place at third-party venues, jobsites, offices, public facilities, recreational facilities, restaurants, or other locations. Some events may also involve sponsors, speakers, vendors, exhibitors, or partner organizations.
AGC of Utah is not responsible for the acts, omissions, products, services, policies, or premises of third-party venues, sponsors, vendors, speakers, exhibitors, or other attendees, except as required by law.
12. Accessibility and Accommodations
AGC of Utah will make reasonable efforts to accommodate attendees who provide advance notice of accessibility needs, dietary restrictions, or other event-related requests. Accommodation requests should be submitted as early as possible so AGC of Utah has a reasonable opportunity to evaluate and respond to the request.
13. Governing Law
These Event Registration Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
To the extent a dispute arises out of or relates to these terms or participation in an AGC of Utah event, the parties agree that Utah law shall apply.
14. Acknowledgment
By registering for or attending an AGC of Utah event, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to these Event Registration Terms and Conditions.
