THE 6-STEP PATH

Start at DOPL

Everything routes through the Division of Professional Licensing. Open the contractor section to see requirements and forms for your classification.

Review the application

Download the application and work it like a checklist — prepare and complete each item as you establish your business. You will find helpful links there for each item.  You can then apply online when finished.

Take the prelicensure course — if required

Check page 10 of the application to see if your qualifier needs the prelicensure class, then register through the AGC of Utah.

Getting Insured: What You'll Need

The application will help you understand what types of insurance you need.

Submit to DOPL

Once everything on the application is gathered and completed, turn it in to DOPL. See the last page of the application for accepted submission methods or apply online. DOPL's #:(866)-275-3675
