What the Awards Recognize

Each year, we recognize contractors who demonstrate exceptional performance in two critical areas:

  • Safety Record
    Lagging indicators such as total recordable incident rate (TRIR), lost workday cases, and overall man-hours worked.

  • Safety Program
    Leading indicators including training, leadership commitment, employee engagement, and proactive risk management practices.

Award Levels

Companies are recognized based on a combination of their safety performance data and safety program strength. Awards are presented at the following levels:

Diamond – The highest honor for industry-leading safety excellence
Platinum – Outstanding safety performance with near-perfect program alignment
Gold – Strong safety results and consistent implementation of best practices
Silver – Solid safety performance with room for growth
Bronze – Recognizes companies taking active steps toward improved safety

Star Levels

On top of the award level, companies have the chance to earn up to five stars by excelling in five critical safety categories. Each category includes two key benchmarks, with every one worth half a star:

  • Leadership & Commitment

  • Record Keeping & Inspections

  • Safety Culture

  • Safety Planning

  • Training & Development
